The Opportunity

We're seeking an Architectural Technology Intern for a 3-4 month engagement starting January 2026. This role bridges architecture, technology, and design—perfect for someone who understands spatial design principles and wants to work at the intersection of AI and the built environment.

What You'll Do

1. Floor Plan Intelligence & Quality Assurance

• Test and validate how our AI interprets architectural floor plans of varying quality and formats

• Help improve our floor plan processing algorithms by identifying spatial misinterpretations

• Create a library of test floor plans with different architectural styles, scales, and complexities

• Document architectural constraints the AI should recognize (load-bearing walls, plumbing locations, etc.)

2. Design Feasibility Review

• Evaluate AI-generated designs for spatial realism and buildability

• Flag designs that violate basic building code principles or structural logic

• Help develop guidelines for the AI to generate more architecturally-sound layouts

• Bridge the gap between "looks good" and "actually works in real space"

3. Expert Advisory Support

• Serve as technical consultant for users with architectural questions

• Help customers understand if their AI-generated designs can be realistically implemented

• Provide guidance on material selection, spatial flow, and building considerations

• Support our "Expert Advisors" feature mentioned on our platform

4. Content & Documentation

• Create architectural documentation templates that users can export from iDecor

• Develop sample transformations showcasing different architectural styles (modern, traditional, open-concept, etc.)

• Build a knowledge base on common residential design constraints and opportunities

• Produce before/after case studies with architectural commentary

5. Partnership Development Support

• Help us communicate with architecture firms and contractors who might use iDecor for client presentations

• Support outreach to material suppliers and vendors for our marketplace connections

• Provide insights on how architects and designers would actually use our tool in their workflow

Internship Details

• Duration: 3-4 months, starting January 2026

• Location: Remote-friendly

• Compensation: To be discussed (we noted your availability for co-op terms)

• Future opportunities: Potential for Fall 2026 or Summer 2027 extensions as the platform scales

What We're Looking For

• Strong understanding of architectural principles, spatial relationships, and building codes

• Proficiency with floor plans and architectural documentation (AutoCAD, Revit)

• Attention to detail and ability to spot when something "doesn't work" spatially

• Interest in how AI and technology can enhance the design process

• Good communication skills to translate architectural concepts for non-technical users
